Definition for Theoretical Probability

Theoretical Probability- the expected probability of an event occurring.

Definition for Random

Random- an event in which every outcome has an equal chance of occurring.

Measures of Central Tendency

Measures of Central Tendency
- a value that represents the centre of a data set.
- can be the mean, median or mode.-data set is a group of numbers that you must arrange in order from least to greatest.
eg.
2,3,4,5,6,5,4,5,3,4,5,3,4,5,6,7,5,34,3.
2,3,3,3,4,4,4,5,5,5,5,5,6,6,7,34.

Probability

Probability- likelihood or chance of an event occurring.
We determine probability by making a fraction:
                    favourable outcomes
                    possible outcomes
eg. flipping a coin calling tails.
     heads
heads or tails     1/2

How To Make A Perpendicular Bisector

How To Make A Perpendicular Bisector
1) Open compass to just over halfway of the line segment.
2)Sharp point at point A make an arc.
3)Sharp point at point B make an arc.
4)With a ruler, join the 2 intersections of the arc.

That's how to make a Perpendicular Bisector

How to do number 1 in Number of the Day

Divide the number of the day by 2 to get half of the number

Order of Operations

B- brackets ( )
E- exponents x m
D- division ÷
M- multiplication x
A- addition +
S- subtraction -

(Division and Multiplication are even, so work left to right.
Addition and Subtraction are even too so work from left to right.)

Example:
( 20+25) x 5- 23
45 x 5 - 23
45 x 5 - 8
225 -8
217

Rule for 6

The number is divisible by both 2 and 3

Rule for 10

The numeral ends in 0

Rule for 5

The last digit is 0 or 5

Rule for 2

The number is even. ( Last number)

# 13 in textbook

13.
Suzanne answered 1/10 + 3/10 this way:
1/10 + 3/10 = 4/20
a) Suzanne is wrong because it is not written like that.
b) The answer would be like this:
1/10+ 3/10 = 4/10 simplify it to: 4/10 = 2/5 4÷ 2 from 2/5, 10 ÷ 2 to the 5 .
