Outlier
A value that "lies outside" (is much smaller or larger than) most of the other values in a set of data.
For example in the scores 3,25,27,28,29,32,33,85, both 3 and 85 are "outliers".
For example in the scores 3,25,27,28,29,32,33,85, both 3 and 85 are "outliers".
Range
| Problem: | Cheryl took 7 math tests in one marking period. What is the range of her test scores? | |
| 89, 73, 84, 91, 87, 77, 94 | ||
| Solution: | Ordering the test scores from least to greatest, we get: | |
| 73, 77, 84, 87, 89, 91, 94 | ||
| highest - lowest = 94 - 73 = 21 | ||
| Answer: | The range of these test scores is 21 points. | |
Variable
A symbol for a number we don't know yet. It is usually a letter like x or y.
Example: in x + 2 = 6, x is the variable
If it is not a variable it is called a Constant
Example: in x + 2 = 6, x is the variable
If it is not a variable it is called a Constant
Median
- The median is the middle value, so I'll have to rewrite the list in order:
13, 13, 13, 13, 14, 14, 16, 18, 21
There are nine numbers in the list, so the middle one will be the (9 + 1) ÷ 2 = 10 ÷ 2 = 5th number:
- 13, 13, 13, 13, 14, 14, 16, 18, 21
Mean
- The mean is the usual average, so:
(13 + 18 + 13 + 14 + 13 + 16 + 14 + 21 + 13) ÷ 9 = 15
Note that the mean isn't a value from the original list. This is a common result. You should not assume that your mean will be one of your original numbers.
The mean is 15

number of the day #16
16.The whole number is divisible by (circle) 2,3,4,5,6,8,9
1234
2,6,8 is divisible of 1234
1234
2,6,8 is divisible of 1234
number of the day #8
8.write a power using the digit in the 100th place as the base and the digit in the 10s place as the exponent.
Example:1234.567 take the 6 and the 3
63 6x6x6=42
Example:1234.567 take the 6 and the 3
63 6x6x6=42
rule for 2
Any whole number that ends with a 0 to divided by any even numbers
Example:20 divided by 2= 10
Example:20 divided by 2= 10
rule for 4
rule for 4 is a number that is divided by two two times.
Example:eight divided by two= four
four divided by two= two
so rule for 4 work on even numbers.
Example:eight divided by two= four
four divided by two= two
so rule for 4 work on even numbers.
rule for 25
If the last two number are divisible by 25
Example:3225,4625,5825,4825
Example:3225,4625,5825,4825
rule for 5
Rule for 5 is the number supposed to end with a five or a zero.
Example:50,55,5,10
if it end with a zero or five it is a rule for 5.
Example:50,55,5,10
if it end with a zero or five it is a rule for 5.
chapter 7
20.Draw a diagram for each subtraction statement.
A) four wholes and one sixth - two wholes and one sixth
i take the one whole to add to one sixth now it's three wholes and seven sixth
three wholes and seven sixth - two wholes and one sixth=one whole and six sixth or two wholes.

5.Draw Venn diagrams like the ones shown to determine the first three common multiples of each set of number.
A) multiples of 2. 2,4,6,8,
multiples of 5. 5,15,25,35
both. 10,20,30,40

8.write an addition statement to represent each diagram. Then subtract.
A) two third + one fourth find the L.C.M
3x4=12
4x3=12
2x3=6
1x4=4
six twelfth+ four twelfth
=ten twelfth
