Order of Operations

4 x 3 + 12 ÷ 2
How to solve this BEDMAS problem?

First check if there are any brackets.
There are none.
4 x 3 + 12 ÷ 2

Then check if there are any exponents.
There are none.
4 x 3 + 12 ÷ 2

Next check if there are any multiplication and/or division.
There are some.

In this example, you should do the multiplication first because you should go from left to right.
4 x 3 + 12 ÷ 2
12 + 12 ÷ 2

Then do the division.
12 + 12 ÷ 2
12 + 6

Next, check if there are any addition and/or subtraction.
There is an addition sign.
12 + 6

The answer to this BEDMAS problem is 18.
